As of February, we have 3 riders preregistered!  Keep those cards and letters coming.  Remember you HAVE to preregister for this event.

Little Egypt Randonneurs will be hosting (but not doing much else) a "bare bones" brevet week from
May 14 - 20, 2012.  Keep an eye on this spot for additional details (as we make them up).

The schedule is as follows:

Monday May 14, 2012           group dinner to hand out cue sheets and brevet cards (dutch treat)
Ryan's Steak House and Buffet 17:00  everyone is invited
Tuesday May 15, 2012           300 kilometer ACP brevet  05:00 start Route #894
Wednesday May 16, 2012      200 kilometer ACP brevet  05:00 start Route #1182
Thursday May 17, 2012          400 kilometer ACP brevet  05:00 start Route #1056

Saturday May 19, 2012          600 kilometer ACP brevet  02:00 start Route #1065

Q:  Do I have to ride all 4 brevets?
A:  Of course not.  Each brevet is a discreet event.  You may ride only 1 brevet, or all four (or any amount
in between).  You may register for any brevet and your cue sheet and brevet card will be provided to
you the morning of the event.  No worries.

Q:  Do I have to preregister?
A:  Absolutely.  Ordinarily we don't require preregistration, but since the RBA will be attempting these
brevets, he will not have the time to print your brevet cards during the week.  Even if you're only
doing one of these brevets, your registration must be received by the RBA no later than May 7, 2012.

Q:  Why are the distances  in this order, rather than sequentially?
A:  Safety.  Randonneuring is sometimes often more about sleep-deprivation than endurance cycling.  By
holding the 300 first, riders can rest a little more after the next ride (200 kilometers) before they
     attempt the 400 kilometer brevet.

Q:  Why is there no brevet on Friday?
A:  The 400 kilometer brevet has a 27 hour time limit.  You may need all or most of that.  And since the 600
will start at 02:00, this, then is too early to accommodate 400 finishers who need 27 hours.  Besides,
you will likely need a rest day after riding all night to finish the 400.  Safety, safety, safety.

Q:  How much support can I expect?
A:  Minimal real support - maximum moral support.  We will provide cue sheets, brevet cards and prompt
results submission after the events.  You provide everything else.  That's why we're calling it the
"LITTLE EGYPTIAN BARE BONES BREVET WEEK".

Q:  Well then, how much will it cost me, since I'm doing most of the work?
A:  A $20.00 membership in Little Egypt Randonneurs.  We require all brevet riders to be members of our
club. Brevets are "club rides".  Then If you want to ride any other brevets we hold, just register and
come ride.  You will already be a member!  How cool is that?
